Homemade lemonade with a hint of basil

Who wouldn't love a glass of delicious homemade lemonade?

Prep time: 20 minutes

Serves: 4 to 6 people

You will need:

  • A handful (or less) of basil, stems removed and washed well
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups lemon juice, from about 12 to 15 lemons
  • 2 cups cold sparkling water made with the MySoda BubbleMate.
  • Ice

To make the syrup, combine the basil, the sugar and the cup of water in a small saucepan. Let it simmer over medium heat, stirring often, until the sugar dissolves, about 4 to 5 minutes. Strain it and let the syrup cool, or keep it in the fridge until you need it.

Mix the lemon juice, the basil syrup and the sparkling water in a jug. Keep it in the fridge until it's time to serve. Serve in glasses over ice and garnish with basil and lemon slices.
